Government and corruption go hand in hand. For a more immediate example, look no further than in Tennessee. Lots of blogs are giving the story adequate coverage, so I'm not going to bother weighing in much, except to say this:
A limited government has much less incentive to be corrupt. The more power we give to the government, the less control we will have over our affairs. Perhaps if we, as the citizens of this country, take ownership of and responsibility for own own affairs, instead of expecting elected officials to do it, we can root out this kind of corruption through attrition. After all, if we don't ask to be needlessly governed and regulated, we won't need corrupt officials to needlessly govern and regulate.Labels: Archives_2005
